The most important thing about a place to stay is the bedrooms
Fragrance Free Bedding
All of our sheets are crisp 100% cotton, washed in BioKleen laundry soap, 7th Generation spot spray and hydrogen peroxide bleach (non-chlorine). We wash all of the duvet covers, sheets and pillow cases between guests.
Mattresses
Both of our mattresses are certified organic and free of flame retardant chemicals. The mattress on the wood bedframe is is 100% organic latex from a local store, Bedrooms and More. The mattress on the brass bed is from Royalpedic and is made with contains cotton, wool and springs (from France), topped with and organic latex topper.
Mattresses are encased in a white, 100% cotton zippered cover and topped with a mattress cover that we wash between guests.
Pillows
We are picky about pillows, and we think a lot of people are. So, we have a variety of pillows to choose from. Some are down (RDS certified humane) and some are poly-fill. Most are from The Company Store. If you like fluffy pillows or flatter pillows, we probably have you covered for comfort.
We triple wrap our pillows in cotton pillow covers and wash all three layers between guests.
Blackout Curtains & White Noise
Both bedrooms have blackout curtains, but the bedroom with a sunny-east facing window has a blackout blind and dark curtains. The brass-bed bedroom has a window that faces North and has a blackout curtain so dark that you can’t tell what time of day it is when the curtain is closed.
The brass bed-bedroom has a fountain outside the window that provides a gentle sound of splashing water. We can turn if off it white noise isn’t your jam. This bedroom also has an air exchange unit that hums on the other side of the closet wall. It brings fresh-filtered air into the apartment and sends indoor air out. Again, you can turn it off if you prefer, but people who like white noise love it.
